Manny ..... excellent figures. I'm very curious to see what it is that they're so "bummed" about. I think that will help tie in the "dogged" faces.

COL ... Thanks for lightening up the pics Manny posted. I was getting ready to do it myself just to have a look-see and then POOF, there they were. HAHA!

Looking forward to this one, Manny ....

were'nt  they good enough for discussion purposes there Colonel?  Hhhhmmmm?

Sure, if we're discussing shadows... I just wanted to see what everyone else was seeing in order to discuss it as well... As for making them too light, well.. I ain't pro-photo editor,  so I did what I could to help m'self (and anyone else who's in the same boat as me) out... I couldn't see the faces, now I can...

If'n it bothers Manny, I'll be happy to delete them...  What say you, Herr Feldmarschall?

I don't get it Hans, does that look better to you? Is it sabotage? Why not alter this one ?   It's 'darker' than either of those. Weren't they all kind of good enough?

Oh boy!  NICE JOB as usual!!! Thumbs Up [tup] Only thing I wish for better pictures so I can see the faces better.  One day I have to get one of those Alphine figures... so far I have worked on Dragon and Tamiya figures.  It is always a pleasure following your work especially the french lady.  Hope my wife doesn't read this!

Yes, nicely done, Herr Feldmarschall, I like the one in the cotton duck field coat particularly.

Like Doog, I think the tanker could be improved just a hair, I think you could narrow his eye slits, they seem to pop just a little too much.  I'm thinking a little more of the flesh highlight along the lower lid side.

Your Schaeferhund is excellent!

"Lili of the Lampost", I believe...  That set was used in an Osprey diorama book.  It featured an Infantry squad coming back from a fight with all these dirty, tired, bloody grunts looking at the lady and her "prospect" with varying degrees of disgust and interest... The male figure was impecably dressed, obviously a REMF, had a Citroen convertable, a dog, and fresh food in the back..

No joke on the dog faces... Thumbs Up [tup]Smile [:)] glad you're still working on a few things! Oh- and nice dog. Keep it away from the buyers and the wives at your next AMPS show Laugh [(-D]

Thanks boyz.........Oh and I've read that while Patton wore them fancy wheelguns, he would sometime wear 1 or even two .45 Auto's

Thanks, Indy--Alpine figs are my favorite brand...I chose this set because the Americans got their collective arses stuck in a vise at Kasserine and these two guys seem to reflect that in their postures and faces---and they look very early-war...I thought the ivory-handle on the 45 would give the fig a splash of color on an otherwise drab piece.

That dog (both are from the Dragon German Police fig set) will probably go in my WIP, "Counterattack!". I put the other one in "Backhand Blow" and got more compliments and comments abnout the dog than anything else---even got several offers to buy the dog (mostly from guys who had their girlfriends w/ them at the AMPS and IPMS Shows)...

That's cool that you are also doing a Kasserine dio--mine is more of a vignette...DITCY II is still #1 on my priority list and is really begining to gel now...all major elements have been completed...should be posting a mock-up by this weekend.

I like your 1940 scene, but since it is a spy scene you gotta have a chick fig in it!!! I'll check it out...

Spot on as always. Does the tanker remind anybody besides me of Lee Marvin?

This kid was Patton's driver during the great armored manuevers in Louisiania prior to the war and Patton gave him that ivory-handled 45 as a token of his appreciation...that's my story and I'm sticking to it...Wink [;)]

Agreed, they are nice figures, none is supposed to be Patton, and you are probably right about the grips on the .45.

How's THAT for neighborly?

I have no doubt he had many different sidearms.  I just thought the really 'fancy schmancy' ones were his revolvers.  But, hey, I could be wrong.  I think it has happened before..... maybe.... once.... Whistling [:-^]

Except Patton's were revolvers and this one is clearly a .45...

You calling Patton a pimp?  LOL...and since these tankers are pimps, they do like a little rouge now and again...

That quote WAS Patton, in response to a reporter asking about his revolver, assuming they were mother of pearl grips.  Patton carried Ivory handled pistols, and corrected the reporter.  I think the color is still right, though.Wink [;)]

To avoid further confusion, let's all watch Patton and reconvene.  I need to grab it on Blueray anyway.

Love the German Shepherd.  I have three and that would look great with the model of Kidd Hofer's P-51B I'm going to do.  I've seen many pictures of him and his German Shepherd Duke, he even took him up flying with him.
