I haven't posted anything in a good minute here, but its not b/c I haven't been busy. So I figured it was time to post a recent build.
These sniper figures from Czech Master's were picked up on eBay as part of a "lot" auction. They were listed as pro built for a commissioned project. However, I simply bought them b/c I got 9+ decent figures (none of which were painted all that great not to mention) all for about $50. The figures ranged from Verlinden, Warriors, CMK, and maybe one or two others. These snipers alone are about $25-30 new. Even though I got in trouble from the wifey, I feel good about the deal.
The fleshtones are/ were done horribly. I might as well just say flesh TONE, as there isn't really any variation. The suits are done decently, but could use a little more shadowing and highlighting. The shooter's barrel was added/ replaced using a hypodermic needle. I have no idea why the spotter would be looking through binos ... I always was under the impression that the spotter always had a more powerful scope than the shooter. But, I guess binos would be in their inventory ... in a 1/35 world! The spotter also comes holding a "ghillied" sniper rifle, but I will be swapping it for an M4 w/ a 203 attached. Something w/ a little more ... support.
The base is just a wooden thing from Hobby Lobby, and the "tree" is from the yard. I started working this piece this morning and plan on finishing it tonight. I thought about stripping the paint, but I think I'm just going to work w/ what's there and add to it.
Anyways ... here we go ...
The spotter ...
The shooter ...
The base ...
Test fitting ...
I also plan on adding in some grasses from Woodland Scenics ... all in all, this little vignette should cost me about $12-15 to complete.
... and ... its just one more modern piece that will go to the show next week.
As always ... any and all C&C welcome. Enjoy!!
