If it's not too uncommon, how about change it to Havana cigar? a big one.

How about a pipe?

Beautiful work. What do the three patches on the right sleeve represent?

Thanks.  The three patches aere the wolf, bobcat and bear patches---just kidding (cub scouts)...

Those are actually "Tank Destruction Badges"...they were awarded to any soldier who defeated an enemy tank with a hand-held weapon, such as a panzerfaust...If you scored 5, you got a gold one...these were instituted mid-war, after Kursk, so many were awarded retroactive...

Model Maniac

Looking real good. I think the joint or cigarette in his hand is a bit too short.

Thanks...I think I'll turn that cig around so he is holding it more like a cig---although it is not uncommon for Eurpeans to hold a cig the way he is...

Thanks, Mic---yeah the detail on this casting is mind-blowing.  You can even read the script on the cuffband: "Grossdeutchland"...

Real nice work, Manny. Fun to do larger scale figures now and then, for a chance to nail some detail work not typically possible on smaller scales. I find that it sharpens my smaller scale work, as well.

My only question is: how is he gettin' in and outta his cat while maintaining such an immaculately clean uniform?? LOL!

Outstanding stuff.

Beautiful work, Manny! That is one handsome looking figure--nice face painting--he really is "handsome:"!

I like the light shade of the jacket--is definitely looks like a "custom" weave, or special order, as some highly decorated were wont to do. The camo painting is really nicely done too.

I'll tell ya--you just excel in figure painting! AWESOME!!!

Thanks, doog---don't do many figs larger than 35th scale and rarely do anything bigger than 90mm, so this was really outside my comfort zone.  Thanks for the very kind words!

The jacket is actually mouse grey to designate that the officer is part of a StuG unit...they weren't supposed to wear the black jackets, which were reserved for tank crews...but I did the piping in salmon pink anyways because the red (for artillery and assault guns) piping to me doesn't really look as cool...close enough to red anway...many of the higher scoring actual "tank killers" were actually StuG crews...

Thanks, guys!  The sweater has the weave molded in so the lines are just part of the molding. No better resin figs than Alpine IMO...

That looks great, ecspecially the camo. How did you achieve the lines on the sweater?

Thanks for sharing,

David
