this looked like a fun set with the blue uniforms for something different
starting to add in some flesh tones
did some more work on the face, and started painting some of the gear.
Yeah, great change of pace from army uniforms, great work so far!

What shade are you using for the flesh? Is it custom or a pre made color? Oil, enamel, or acrylc?

~Great start on another great DML figure Jim! Funny thing I'd never seen this old set until Mike Mclaughlin showed it to me the other day & now you show up working on it--kinda funny ! We we're talking about how usually you see the tan trousers portrayed, and usually out of the boot
(maybe you saw it already but I posted) the whole run-up on that uniform for a reference
"Well...you gunna pull them pistols, or just whistle Dixie?"
is that uniform just faded from age??
I'm going with blue like this, pretty much copy the box art.
Good question Jim, They both look like originals yeah, but that one's a bit faded and the photo is a little grainy---it's from a Polish site and I don't know how well cared for--the one in your shot looks perfectly preserved , huh, like this one :
Shows the gang to always (cross)-reference sorry to lead ya to faded glory
stikpusher What shade are you using for the flesh? Is it custom or a pre made color? Oil, enamel, or acrylc?
for the flesh i airbrush the dude tamiya flat flesh , it also primes the rest of the guy lol.
i use acrylic for main painting, the flesh color is some flesh, red, white, and a reddish brown mixed together. for the lines on the face that create the overall features I use oils, not washes but paint in thin layers i like how the oil can be painted in precisely for this part . i still need to add a few more layers in the lines around his mouth and nose
I also use oil for the shadow between fingers
I have got all the gear painted up now.
got the jacket painted. also just noticed i got some blue on the gun sling! gotta touch it up lol

Check the balance point of the KAR 98. It's a little further back than where you have it.

flesh painted on this guy
painted in some of the yellow badges. figured its easier to do now and paint around them later
~Lookin real good
What paint is that blue color you're usin?
Adam
Looking good!
Good idea on the yellow, it should be much easier to paint over it than painting yellow over dark blue.
I've got the flesh parts completed now starting to paint some of the accessories
*INDY ~Lookin real good What paint is that blue color you're usin? Adam
