Thanks, the chord is sculpted onto the figure, I wish it was a second piece, it would be alot easier to work with. The face has taken me alot of tries and Im not the happiest with it, its to tan, but then who knows, he is a soldier. I cant find MY camera so tomorrow im gonna grab my parents and take a few shots.
I need to add a bit of red to the cheeks as well. I am getting close to having the base coats finished for the clothes (harder then it sounds, alot of small details) once thats done I will use my oils to shade it a bit.
This is my first bust, its a big learning experience. I have followed a tutorial, found it left him to orange so went and asked on another site and did some research to find different techniques and there is alot of trial and error. If anyone knows how I could improve what I am doing, tell me.
Also, as a side note, something I did with the blue and I ended up liking. In order to thicken the light blue which was to watery to use I put some darker blue in the mix. It darkened it a bit but unless I spend 20 min shaking it, they dont mix completly so when I paint with it I get a mixture of light and darker blue, giving it's own shading, Its cool.
