Hi:

Do you have a Hobby Lobby near you .If so go to the model section .You should find many Metal Earth kits .Right now I just finished the " Cat " road Grader and the Excavator .Very neat but you have to be careful !

Interesting stuff .Where's the plastic companies on stuff like this ?

Bakster

Hey Mark... I can't tell you how many times I almost bought one of the Metal Earth models. They look like a fun and easy build. That fiddle looks pretty dang cool. You have inspired me to buy one sometime.

PS: I wish I learned how to play a fiddle. I once told a coworker that I wished I had learned to play the banjo. She laughed histerically. I don't know why.Surprise

First...OP...that' really Cool! I may just have to pick one UP!

Bakster.....just do it!  Learn the fiddle!  I am gonna be. 40 this year, and I just picked one up from amazon for 70 bucks.  I figure, for that much, if I only stick with it for a year, I got my money's worth out of it....I got the MVH300, it has really good reviews, and so far, I have learned Ode to Joy and Ashokan Farewell....

"...failure to do anything because someone else can do better makes us rather dull and lazy..."

Mortal as I am,I know that I am born for a day.  But when I follow at my pleasure the serried multitude of the stars in their circular course, my feet no longer touch the Earth...

Thanks for the responses guys.  I enjoyed the build.  It was a bit tedious because I was trying not to smash it.  You really have to have a light touch.  That was nervewracking because I was building it for someone.  I'll build one for me next.  I'm thinking the Enterprise 1701-D.  Then I will tackle the dragonfly I got for my wife.  I don't think I'm ready for that one next.  It is quite delicate.

I got mine from ebay.  I have not seen the bass or the dragonfly in any stores.  There is a HUGE variety of these models there.  Just pick one and go for it.  I'd like to see what you guys choose.

Just keep picking away at it...

I really want to try one of these. There are so many now I can't decide which one.

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Love it. My daughter played the bass in high school and college orchestras and still does on weekends in a wedding band. I may give this a try as a birthday present for her. Thanks for posting.

I made this for my daughter who is in orchestra.  These are neat little models.  You must pay attention to the tabs because you really only get one shot to bend them.  The real trick is holding on to the piece firmly enough to get leverage to bend the tab, but not too hard to wad the whole piece up.  Tedious.  Looks good though.  I would like to build more.
