Hey all,
Woody is back on the bench. I have a short attention span so I'm easily distracted. Actually, I was looking over the kit and noticed something you don't see in a modern Bandai kit - a molding flaw!
It might be that the ejector pin mark on the inside of the hat had something to do with it, and combined with the weird slightly flexible styrene Bandai is now using, may have resulted in the hole and tear.
I'm not going to paint the kit (GASP), so I needed to patch the hole to match the surrounding plastic. I used the colored sprue that the hat was molded from.
I'll need to flatten the patch a little more, then gently buff out the area. The entire model will be flat coated afterwards.
I also wanted to improve Woody's eyes. Bandai provides stickers for his irises, but the surface they are to mount on are slightly domed. How those brilliant product development people over there can figure out how a stiff, flat sticker would conform to a compound curved surface is beyond me. Anyway, I had the thought to trim down the domed inserts flat, apply the stickers, then flood the depression with CA glue. ("There's CA glue in mah eye!!!") It worked a treat.
I hope everyone did not have fever this Saturday night. Stay alive.
Ahem. I'll git mah coat...
