1/35 civilians, cart and bottles?
Posted by senojrn on Friday, December 15, 2006 9:54 AM

I'm looking for civilian figures in 1/35 scale, wearing 1940's era clothing.  Basically, looking for European-looking people (young and old females, old men, young men, children--Italian and/or German) who are in, or could be modified to various poses for either partisan/underground/resistance activity or civilians who could be encountered as troops are entering a city/village.  I know this is a really vague description.

I saw a set of built and painted partisan figures on eBay not too long ago, but I was outbid, and there was no Manufacturer or company name cited in the description.

Also looking for a source of a farm-type wooden hand cart (1/35) and wine bottles.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Custom Dioramics through Verlinden has a bunch of civilian figures, carts, and other accessories.   There are others out there as well, just can't remember the company names right now.

MK35 make many civilian figures and accessories. Here is a link to a page at SB Models where you can see pictures of them. Just scroll down the page for the civilians.

Tamiya's Kit for the Churchil Mk VII (TM35210) comes with four figures. One of the figures is a European peasant holding a bottle of wine. A pull cart with milk cans comes with it as well. the link below is to the kit at Squadron Mail order.

Also, Verlinden's Food Supplies set (VE1005) has wine bottles included as well as the Bottles, crates, cans set (VE1643)

Nemrod and Verlinden do have some civilian figure sets as well.

There is a set of farm equipment by a French firm Historex in 1/35, a link is below via Michigan Toy Soldier Co.

Thanks for all the great sources!!  The SB Models really looks promising for a bunch of dio/vignette ideas that I've been tossing around!  Thanks again for the leads!

Hi mate,

As the other blokes mentioned, the figure company Mk35 have a great selection of Partisan figures,i picked some up at a show last week and the quality is quite alright.(In the photo far right are the Partisans, plus a cart from Mk35)Sorry about the flash foto!

Esci also have a set of Partisans,if the heads are replaced with that of Hornet or alike, they clean up quite reasonably, but keep in mind the molding of the figures is not as high as Dragon etc.

Another option is to convert some civillian figures from the brand Preiser, they have various civvy figures and are good value for money.

As for the other things you asked for,Verlinden,Plusmodels,Mk35 and most major resin manufacturers have various farmyard or cafe accessories to choose from.

Good luck with your idea,Shay
