When you next take some photo's try these ideas.

1. Use a bounce flash gun and have flashgun head pointing straight up to the ceilling.

2. If you don't have a bounce flashgun, try this use either a white tissue or a white kitchen paper towel, use either to cover your flash or pop up flash.

3. If that doesn't work then try some of that opaque sticky tape on your flash, pop up flash gun.

4. Use a copule of hallegon desk lamps and set your camera for apeture priority, set your apeture between f5.6 - f8 (you'll need to do a few test shots first) as this should give you some DOF and let in enough light but you will need a tripod and a cable release for this one.

5. If you can push the cameras ISO setting to between 100 - 400 (you'll need to do a few test shots first)

6. If you don't have a tripod try using a bag of unopened rice to sit your camera on, focus the camera and then use the built in timer for a camera shake free photo.

Hope the above will be of some help...

Regards

David

Sign - Ditto [#ditto]  Looks good but shiny.  It might just be the camera though.  I've had figures that looked more dull than you would beleive, and they looked like I had painted them in metallic colors with 7 gloss coats when I photographed them.

Not bad for your first but please Dullcoat him! He's too shiny....then he'll look more natural.

Good to see ya stepping into figures--nothing sets a model off more than a good figure. Perfect for scale reference and human interest!

Not bad for a first effort.

In addition to the right arm which you already mentioned, you want to retouch the helmet strap. There's camo pattern paint running over it. The strap itself should be brown leather, I believe. Touch up the left arm as well at the sleeve.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

First Figure, Now with Pic!

This is a picture of my first 1/35 scale figure. He is a dragon figure with a verlinden conversion parts head and right arm. He will be part of a dio but the other figures ar not yet painted. Besides the obvious tan paint splotch on his right arm which i will fix, what other comments can you guys give me?I'm also thinking that his flax jacket is the wrong color but I think i'll leave it because uniform variations will seem more realistic, especially considering the vietnam theme.
Thanks ahead of time.

P.S. sorry for not posting the pic, i forgot
