Warriors 1/35 Waffen-SS trio Kursk 1943 - finished

Been working on these figures for some time, finally finished them yesterday. This was the first time I shaded everything with acrylics, including the faces. For a first try, I'm pleased with how they turned outSmile [:)]

Impressive! Thumbs Up [tup] See, this level is what I'm trying to get to with my figures. I love the shading on the uniforms, love the skin tone on the faces, love the camo.

What's the white rag wrapped around the rifle for? Looks like the rifle was wounded - Confused [%-)]

Also, which Warriors kit(s)? I would be interested in trying them.

Thanks jthurston.

The rifle belongs to a sniper - and typically snipers will wrap the barrels of their weapons with burlap or when available, camouflage netting, to avoid it's being seen protruding out of a bush or window.

The kit I used was Warriors' Waffen SS Trio walking #35283, with a few additions. The helmetless head came from Verlinden's character head set, the weapons from Tamiya's German Infantry Weapons set (the resin ones were broken in fourteen pieces as usual) and photoetched collar insignia from LionRoar.

Your figures look really great, the fleshtones are really nice, too. Well done, man.

Ah, brilliant. Looking back on it now, it does definitely look like sniperflage. I just got a silly notion that it was white, or off-white, in color.

part of the reason I ask which kit is that they look like they'd work well with Hornet's three SS guys:

Gorgeous work, Hermesminiatures! Excellent work with the acrylics, esp. for the first time! wow!

I recently switched to acrylics as well, and I think they hold their colors longer than oils. I've had problems with the lighter highlights just sort of "fading away" or reabsorbing into the base coat. Was there a reason you switched to acrylics? Looks like you've got them mastered already!

It's all Vallejo with a few MIG pigments for weathering.
