1st off, I really like your detail work. To paint up a figure with that detail in 1/48 is very impressive.

Now one historical nitpick- US Paras did not wear green uniforms in Normandy. The M-1942 Jump uniforms worn by the 82nd and 101st were a Khaki olive in tone when new and faded to lighter khaki shade with use and age. Pathfinders did paint camo patterns on their M-1942's with black and OD paint during the preperation for Overlord. The Green M-1943 uniform was not used by US Airborne forces in combat until Market Garden in Sept of 44. As you have this trooper depicted, he would be very appropriate for that drop, or Varsity in March of 1945.

In any case, I think your work looks good.

Swanny, I think you relly need to reconsider your flesh tone--it looks really pallid and pale, kinda deathly, IMHO. And is the uniform shiny? I can't tell from the small photos. Might want to dull that...

You defifnitely need more warmth--a dash of orange, or better yet, raw sienna + white, in the flesh color though. Try the raw sienna mix, it's a nice and convincing tone.

Swanny,

Looks good.  Are you going to add a division patch to the figure?

Every once in a while I feel the urge to paint a few figures. This is a 1/48 US Army D-Day Airborne soldier. This figure set came from another modeler's estate and was done with him in mind -- Larry, I hope you like it.
