You could use any primer, after washing the figures in mild detergent.
But I suggest you use an acrylic one, since it has a "rubbery" consistance once dry. Enamels become hard and chip off easier on those soft figures.

How to prime /paint soft plastic figures?
Posted by the doog on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 11:11 PM

Hey guys, just wondering what's the best way to prime and paint those soft plastic figures that Italeri sells, amongst others---I got the "Midieval Tournament" for my girlfriend for Christmas (more horse-themed stuff; also coincides wth our trip to the "jousting" at the Rennaisance Fair up here in Sterling NY) and I want to do it up right.

Anyone have any good advice on what primer/ paint sticks the best?
