Here are pictures from this year's Long Island Figure Show held 17 November 2007 at Freeport, Long Island, New York.

Lots of stunning work...one thing in particular I happened to take a close look at--The head on the Pleisiosaur (spelling?) Loch-ness monster style dinosaur.  The teeth,the eyes, even the wet, glassy look to the eyes was just incredible.

I spent some time with the builder. The teeth were boiled out of a real fish head  and the eyes are taxidermy eyes with the lids resculpted

Now there's some dedication...can't imagine boiled fish head smelling very good---reminds me of the time when I was about six and I tried to bring a dead horseshoe crab home in the car from cape cod with me. Dead [xx(] Whistling [:-^].  The results speak for themselves though on the dinosaur's head.

man ya just gotta love cape cod. there is a fun skatepark in chatam, lots of bruises after skatin for 2 day strait tooBlack Eye [B)] ever been too mayflower beach ian its sick

Man, I agree--the coat of paint on it--the freckled paint job, was amazingly well done!
