Conversion: British tanker scoring a hit 1/35
Posted by bultenibo on Tuesday, December 18, 2007 9:48 AM

Here's a conversion of a British tank commander from one of the RTR (Royal Tank Regiments), set in the desert. It's made out of parts from Italeri, Dragon and Tamiya. Since I wanted a tanker with an attitude I added a resin head (from Warriors, I think), with a more expressive look.

The quality of the old Italeri kit, which is from the 70's I think, is really bad, but the figures can at least be used as a starting point (if one adds new details - pockets, shoulder boards, belt).

Being a pommie tanker, he is not quite modelled saying "Yoiks!" or "Spiffing shot what?"

Somehow "booyah!" suits but wrong timeframe...

I would settle for YES!!!!! as a PzIV goes up at long range...

Very nicely done figure. The expression is really well animated!

cheers

Very nice work. Could also be saying, "You bloody hun, now you've made me spill me tea!"

Well, if it was an aussie tanker, it would more likely to be...

"Yew bloody beauty!" or "Grouse shot!!!"

Crikey?

Only if he was totally surprised he hit the target and killed it! Might replace the PzIV with a Tiger I kill if that was the case Smile [:)]

Crikey means "wow" or "bloody hell!" an exclamation of amazement as it were.

cheers

rad your FSM article, mate. Very well done! Congrats on getting it published. I would love to know more on how the figures were done.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions! I actually thought of the question "What is he really shouting?" when I was painting the little fellow, but since I don't know that many British-english expressions, I was kind of clueless. The only thing I thought of was that that his facial expression kind of looked like Sylvester Stallone in "Rocky", so the most natural thing would be that he was shouting "Aaaadrian...".
