If that's supposed to be the Michael Wittman of Tiger 222 fame, then you've painted his waffenfarbe the wrong color; it should be pink, for the panzer troops.

YOu have him depicted as a member of an artillery crew, with red waffenfarbe.

Also, it is incorrect that the waffenfarbe would extend along his lapels on an SS uniform for officers. It should be silver instead for officers.

I like the effect on the jacket. Looks like real leather.

I'm always experimenting w/ different skin tones. What colors did you use?

Hi , i made my own varients off colours using artists oils and just use white to highlight mixed in colours and dark red mixed in for lowlights very small amounts though, Just exsperiment until it looks ok.

Bodge, regardless of who you call him by name, you should repaint the waffenfarbe--it was never "red" on the black panzer uniform!

The red waffenfarbe was ONLY used on the field-gray assault vehicle uniform. The way you have depicted it is incorrect for that uniform, period.

It wold be an easy correction to do!

Wasnt it, Tiger 007 fame? You better change the Waffenfarbes quick Bodge, youve clearly got Doog's back up. He didnt even say if he liked it or not.

Sorry Doog i will correct it,I dont take ofence to your critisizms as  you seem to know what you are doing , i like your work and in a way look up to your standards.I believe you wouldnt say it was wrong if it could be overlooked. The only things that wind me up on critacisms is armchair modelers that you never see any of thier work or very little of it and its usually cra*  but they like to think they are the bees knees so to speack.Anyway keep reporting back to mine as i value your thoughts. NO, NO, NO! Don't take it that way!!! Sigh [sigh]

It's just that it's the first thing I noticed, and especially if it is being cited as being "Wittman", who is a personal favorite of mine--I just know that the uniform never appeared in this livery, and wanted to make sure I pointed out the need for a correction!

I love the painting! I think it's excellently finished! It just needs the correct waffenfarbe.

I'm glad you'll do the necessary correction to do honor to this fine portrayal, Bodge! It would be a shame if you entered it into a contest in the future and a judge passed on it because of such a glaring error for anyone who knows German uniforms. And now YOU know, so all's well that ends well!!! I like the way you added some rosiness around his cheeks. That, combined w/ the leather jacket, makes him look cold, or winded, or both. It adds some vitality to a static bust, which is a hard thing to do.

Nice work.

Nice job on the bust...doog is right about the piping...the uniform is actual a wool "panzerwrap"---not a leather jacket, so it should look like cloth...

I don't know if that is whittman if so it,s an awful sculpt of the man. Your paint work is terrific, but as you already know the waffenfarbe is pink for tankers..yadda..yadda.  I sculpted my own Whittman fig and though far from perfect it looks a damn sight more like mike than this one. Also Wittman should have the superimposed LSAH icon on his shoulder board.  Still very nice paint.

Nice work.  I would agree the inspiration for your bust might have been Michael Wittmann, but I think the likeness isn't that close.

Nice figure just the same.

His right earphone looks like the skin is wrapping on it... just a tought...  But looks damn good, yeah.

And doog is correct, it should be Rose Pink for deutsche Panzermannschaft. And Manny is correct, it is a wool jacket.

Here's a Waffenfarbe sheet you could use, and anyone else who is in doubt...  It says SS Waffenfarbe, but in my experience this should be the same with Wehrmacht unt Luftwaffe (Exept some of them.. As those who say Himmler).

I'll post this on here as well, so other who look for it wont have to look trough all kinds of posts :)

But again, awsome painting. Looks like Wittman aswell!
