One more try...

For german paratroops, aside from the early war singe color jump smocks, all they wore was splinter (as far as I know). They did use reversable parkas. The only other thing different that I can think of would be their breadbags colored luftwaffe blue instead of the green color of Heer and SS troops.

Some months back, I picked up these Dragon German Paratroopers for the Ardennes. The box has a good guide for painting the camo.

According to the article the tan water pattern was not made out of splinter material.

I have only limited skills in painting figures. I have just purchased a kit by Andrea miniatures ww2 fiqure training set. I am hoping I can achieve the results that Dwight has with his German paratroopers. Good luck Airbrush with your figures.

Great news... I found a great way to do splinter pattern, but its only draw back is if u dont do it right the first time, it is really hard to fix with out reapinting the whole thing... first I paint the camo pattern with out the splinters, next I paint all the accesories, belts etc... then before adding all the gear I take a sharpened pencile and since my arm is much more steady with a pencile than a paint brush I jsut drew on the splinter pattern... it worked well till I figured out my fingers smuged most of it off the legs . owell I know what to do now... but also if u try my way make sure you add a dull coat to it becasue the lead is kinda shinny. but still it worked better than i dreamed
