Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Great news... I found a great way to do splinter pattern, but its only draw back is if u dont do it right the first time, it is really hard to fix with out reapinting the whole thing... first I paint the camo pattern with out the splinters, next I paint all the accesories, belts etc... then before adding all the gear I take a sharpened pencile and since my arm is much more steady with a pencile than a paint brush I jsut drew on the splinter pattern... it worked well till I figured out my fingers smuged most of it off the legs Dunce [D)] Banged Head [banghead] . owell I know what to do now... but also if u try my way make sure you add a dull coat to it becasue the lead is kinda shinny. but still it worked better than i dreamed Yeah!! [yeah]

I have only limited skills in painting figures. I have just purchased a kit by Andrea miniatures ww2 fiqure training set. I am hoping I can achieve the results that Dwight has with his German paratroopers. Good luck Airbrush with your figures.

According to the article the tan water pattern was not made out of splinter material.

Some months back, I picked up these Dragon German Paratroopers for the Ardennes. The box has a good guide for painting the camo.

Good Luck

For german paratroops, aside from the early war singe color jump smocks, all they wore was splinter (as far as I know). They did use reversable parkas. The only other thing different that I can think of would be their breadbags colored luftwaffe blue instead of the green color of Heer and SS troops.

I decided to have one more go at painting an acceptable cammo pattern on my german paratroops... so my newest question is was there anything besides the Splinter cammo that was worn by troops in the field??? (NOT THE SS PEA PATTERN!!!) I heard something about another kind???
