A model of the HMS "Hood" (1:300) just hit the stands in Poland

A paper model from the classic "Mały Modelarz" brand just hit the stands in Poland:

Maly Modelarz 1:300 HMS Hood

The scale is 1:300 so this baby is going to be about 87cm long (about 34 inches). The price tag? 38 złoty, meaning under 10$ - not bad, huh? The ship is full of parts, some so small you can't really cut them out - they are more like templates to be made of some other material. Some things like the AA guns would probably be better 3D-printed, but it looks good on paper.

You might wonder about the issue date - 2015... Well Maly Modelarz in theory is a monthly magazine - but they have a lot of problems cranking the issues out on time so they have a little delay... This is their last issue so far (September 2020).

Now if this is a little too small for you, there once was a 1:200 paper model of the HMS Hood:

Halinski 1:200 HMS Hood

Like you can see issued in 1993, so it might be a little hard to find, but it's there!

Thanks for reading and have a nice day

Thanks for the heads-up.

On a whimsical note...I looked at the 'new' cover, and my first thought was..."She's riding a bit high in the water, isn't she?"

I guess I'm more accustomed to seeing her as on the second cover...beating her way through heavy seas...though still with guns blazing!

Thanks again.

Oh Pawel:

That's one of mine I haven't built yet. I have copied the plans though, for conversion to Plastic. That was the Best gift I ever got from a Child. Yeah, a neighbor whose kid was learning from Him and Me how to build any type, saw my paper ones and that's what he talked his parents into getting for me! Wasn't that a nice Gift?
