A model of the HMS Hood (1:300) just hit the stands in Poland

    I do have to agree! My Bismark is on her fourth tour on the bench between part building on the " Rio". She's tender but holding up well. A lot is handmade like the " RIO". Especially the Gun barrels. Man, there's lots of them !

I just updated the cover picture in my original post - I've seen the first one I posted said goodbye...

Honestly I don't know for sure if this is a reissue - but from what I just checke I'd say probably yes. But a recent reissue has a good influence on the price and availability of the model.

Once again, here's a comparison of the old and new cover:

Here's also the cover of the bigger, 1:200 Halinski model (that is a real beast already) - it has also been reissued some years ago:

This one would set you back some 50$-60$ plus shipping

Now if somebody likes warships, those babies are thousands of tons of fun!

I know this topic is already a few months old, but I just googled this model and it seems that the 1/300 version is not new but was already published in 2007 or is this another version ?

T-B, yes the second cover looks more "dynamic" but we are not talking about a torpedo boat, this was a batleship, so I don't think she would have pulled herself that high on the surface... well, we do know that she was sunk very early in the battle.  Yes I know it was a lucky shot from the Bismarck.

   That's one of mine I haven't built yet. I have copied the plans though, for conversion to Plastic. That was the Best gift I ever got from a Child. Yeah, a neighbor whose kid was learning from Him and Me how to build any type, saw my paper ones and that's what he talked his parents into getting for me! Wasn't that a nice Gift?

On a whimsical note...I looked at the 'new' cover, and my first thought was..."She's riding a bit high in the water, isn't she?"

I guess I'm more accustomed to seeing her as on the second cover...beating her way through heavy seas...though still with guns blazing!
