. I will just say that I am sorry for failing you with this WIP.

You havent failed, failure would mean that you "gave up".

Your just taking a step back ( so you can "sneek" up on it from the other side.)

Bakster
Feel free to post as you have been. I'll still be here for that. I love the banter,

OK .... but don't leave us alone in here too long..... If we go too far off track, were gonna have a moderator in here.....

"HEY !!! WHAT DO YOU KID'S THINK YOUR DOING !!!!! "

Well said, my friend.

Yeah I suppose that is true about a moderator. Frankly, I am surprised we haven't been  spanked already. But, you didn't hear me say that. Glad they didn't. Where else can you go on here and find some mindless fun.

You cut his brain! You bloody baboon!

Oops. I figured I better fix the spanked part. So many things now a days have double meanings. My apologies.

Who'd a thunk that Capn is gonna work on a LEM dio?

No guarantees, but, the 50th anniversary is coming up next July.

As to peoples in digital 3D models, human figures wind up using up a lot of video memory to map all the shapes.  So, most of the industry uses RPC (realistic Photo Content) which is an image mapped on a generic shape module (which looks like two cardpboard cutouts at right angles with the imagery turned off.  Revit uses the same system for plants, but they don't cast shadows very well, so some intrepid souls have mapped up actual trees--they are not "video stingy" though.

Some things you just got to break down and do.  I needed a park bench.  A nice curvy one.  Solution:  Model one up from parts.  Forgot to email it to myself this evening, else, I'd share.  Sigh.

Do not fret thread drift, content creation slowness, or the like.  It's the dog days of summer, and most everything wants to lag and loll and just not procede expeditiously.

Capn...maybe you will join the coming group build with us. That would be awesome. I am trying to get Timmy on the hook, but his work shop has been overridden by killer sinks and stuff. Gamera... it would be awesome to have you in that too. No pressure, just wishful thinking.

Capn..thanks for sharing all that. Like I said... I'm interested.

And thanks about the thread drift. Yeah. Maybe in a few months when the snow is flying, I will be regenerated.

Bakster: Is this GAF's 'Race Into Space' GB? I have been following it but I'm in three GBs right now and building a set of figures for the dad of a vet. I've been defaulting on a pile of GBs here lately and though tempted by this and the 'Eye in the Sky' and 'Royal Navy' GBs I've been trying to concentrate on what I'm working on instead of starting something new.

I do have a small Academy shuttle with boosters and the external tank and a weird Russian kit of the Buran I picked up years ago I could contribute. I'll see if I can work the GB in somehow...

Bakster: Is this GAF's 'Race Into Space' GB?

Yes sir.

My friend--don't put that pressure on yourself. You have a lot going on. I'd love to see you in it, but only if you'll have fun doing it. See how things look for you at the end of September.

Thanks!

Thanks!

A month sounds good, I am making good progress on my Corsair for Bish's Commonwealth GB so hopefully I'll be ready to start something else by then. Both the US and Soviet shuttle kits are pretty small and simple. I'll get back to GAF when I know more about how things are going.

Could I do a model of "Sputnik" ?

All I need is something round with a bunch of "old school" TV antenna's stuck all over it.

( I "should be able to finish it in about 17 minute's .)

LoL.

Really, a 1:1 would not be that complicated.  If memory serves, the actual thing was about 60cm around, with 2m whip antennae.

Finding/building the round thing would be probably the hard part.  (The original used flush screws around the circumference, I think.)

Blah! I tried to finagle building a burned up piece of Skylab from reentry. The idea was squashed. So, my answer to you? NO. Hehe.

 BAXTER ...

Gary... Can I make a piece of burned up skylab that fell to Earth? I can get that done in 9 months...no problem.

GARY ...

Sure!  As long as you've got a serial number or ID mark on it that can be traced back to Skylab...

Baxter, that's an easy one. Just do this...

Just dont get caught .... like these guy's did.

John Belushi Explained it all  Wayyy back in 79. ( unfortunatly I cant post the video for this... copyright law's ... )

Jane, can we at least get a still shot ???

Thank you Jane ...
