I got this done for the Marcon in Columbus, OH last summer. I missed the old days where people brought models in and decided that rather than just continuing to gripe, I'd do something about it. This is the kit I posted about the decal problems I was having months back and ended up "patching" the stripes with the Russian Marker Red.
First, the sub-assemblies with rescribed lines ( a first ecxept for touch-up of lines lost in sanding on previous kits ) and primer.
Assembled with base colors...
Decals added and "patches" for broken decals done, sludge wash dying...
And, finally, wash cleaned up...
The last two were at the hotel room the night before the con. The punch line was, after all that last-minute effort ( I'll try to never set a deadline on kits again ) in the wee hours of the morning, they wouldn't let me display them at the art show! Seems that in the last 2 years since I asked about requirements, and with no models on display at the con for about 10 years, the organizers added a rule where any "unmodified" kit will not be accepted. No matter how much detail is added, if it's not scratch or kitbashed, they won't take it.
Oh, well. There's still the local model cons.
Hope you guys like the pics!
