Nice, you don't usually think of drab colors when talking about an A-wing, but the colors work here.

I didn't have any dark red spray, and one of the toy companies did an A-Wing trimmed in green,so I went with it.The weathering powders I'm using don't show up well on dark colors,so the green paint looks too fresh for me.I'll try and correct that next time at bat.

I forever which squad it was, but one of the Wings used green drab for their paint scheme.

Its a nice looking kit, though, that A-wing would leave that tie-fighter in the dust

Very nice kit... I'm looking to do one myself...  Just one little comment (I hate being that kind of modeler) but I suggest some blaster hits in your next model because the rebel alliance maintenance guys doesn't have time to fix and repair the ships hull due to their lack of time and spare parts. This would bring some life to the starship...

Greetings

to go off of what Antonio said, if the weathering on the dark green isnt complete enough for you- might I concider going back and painting on some light colored base over top of the green? Like some kind of paint chip effect perhaps?

Looks really nice though- I'm pretty sure the A-Wing that got shot down and crashed into the bridge of the Super Star Destroyer in Return of the Jedi was green... but I havent seen it in a while so I could easily be wrong?

Ant, the Awing had very low powered shields and thin armor to keep it going fast, A wings couldnt take many hits before going down

Something like that may be perfect to try a dot-filter technique on, just to keep the drab from being so monolithic.

I haven't built up the nerve to try that dot filter stuff.

As soon as I pick up the Tamiya 'soot' powder,I'll add some battle damage. The local shops don't carry it.

If I am not mistaken, it was a green A-wing that smashed into the main bridge of the Executor, causing it to fly out of control into the second death star. Correct me if I am wrong.......... please...........

NP.

I can just see some of the friends of someone who was part of the bridge crew, "I wonder what the last thing to go through his head was." "An A-wing I think." Laugh [(-D]

sweet looking a-wing. Nice to see some people still building them.

i always thought amt got the scale wrong on this kit, the return of the jedi box art showed the pilot was quite large in the cockpit, so i replaced the 1/72 pilot with a 1/48 figure. looks much better.

INteresting look for this model, TD. I'll be honest; I barely know what it is, but it looks fast!

A-Wings are supposed to be fast and agile compared to other SW fighters.

Sorry Guy's ALL A-Wings had RED markings the Pilots wear Green Flight Suits.

Any other color is expanded universe and toys.

Also they are only used in Jedi same as the B-Wing, Imp Shuttle and TIE Interceptor.

Nice build up by the way, nice to see something besides the red.

I did one years ago matching the Silver and Blue McQuarrie painting.

But that's what so fun about the SW universe... you can paint it about any kind of color or with any markings you want.  It nice to see a well made red A-Wing, but it's more fun to see the variations people come up with.

Nice build!
