Change of pace for me, both in terms of scale and subject (and actually making something for a change).
I'm no figure modeller and 1/12 scale is pretty daunting but the size gave me a chance to try a few things, least not a subtle finish to the figures (from the outset I didn't want an overdone "drag queen" look). Taking a cue from a friend who works in visual effects I laid down layers of shadows for the skin tones using the airbrush, which gives them some depth, and then evened them out with a top coat. I painted the eyes a pale grey (to avoid too stark a look), picked out the pupils and iris then gave them a wash of thinned red so they'd pick up the corners. The hair looks glossy, this was later matted down with varnish after picking out the details.
Clothing was painted the same way using pre-shading with the airbrush, then a very light dry-brushing with paler shades.
TARDIS goes together very fast - its the Ikea variaety, all flat-packed - and is surprisingly large at 1/12 scale. Some gentle shading and little weathering lifted the detail.
All told it was about a weeks work in the evenings, most of that on the figure painting, great fun.
