It hard to beleive that is been 30 years for that wonderful series, I have both the first two seasons of "star blazers" on DVD and still enjoy them after all these years.  Well by luck when moving I came across the 1/500 kit, I know i bought it but had in my stash, so I found this great video on how to build it on youtube it from japan. Here are my ? most of it can be understood, but he used some kind of putty that did a great job what was it and who makes it. and second someone posted a link to what was an ad for pincko but it look like a promo for a "starblazers" live action movie  does any one have a copy they removed the link.

I believe the putty product you're looking for is sometihng called Alteco SSP-HG http://hlj.com/product/ALG001 I don't know anything about it apart from what's on the linked page. It seems to be similar to a CA product to which is mixed a powder containing "micro balloons".

As for the video to which you're referring, as far as I can recall, it wasn't for a live action movie, it was for a video game. a TV ad for a pachinko game. Links to the "official" videos here:

  • select the one in the middle of the second row
  • on the page which opens, press the "TV CM" button (centre, below the main pic)

Thanks for the info on the putty, Hobbylink japan carried it but it has been discontinued for some reason.  I re-watched the video again trying to take notes, most of what he did was very straight forward and easily understood.  However, I had trouble seeing what P.E. sets he used for the railing they where 1/700 but the only number for the set was pe-26 not the maker. I think I could use standard 1/700 three railing for the railings, but the stairs/ladder-ways did not look like any i could find.  Any help in this matter would be welcome.  The Only other ? is what colors did he use.  Thanks again.

The PE set used ("PE-26") appears to be a Pit-Road repackaging of the Gold Medal Models Yamato/Musashi PE set. http://www.goldmm.com/ships/gms7ordr.htm
