WAR OF THE WORLDS
Posted by Gerry on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 5:04 PM

Finished my Martian War Machine from the classic '50s flick WAR OF THE WORLDS.

Pegasus model kit

Light kit by VooDooFX - some soldering required, but with the small soldering tools from Radio Shack it wasn't that difficult.

Color is Model Masters buff-able BRASS airbrush

If you haven't done lighting, this is an easy kit to start getting some soldering skills with. My first time soldering, and all went well.

Hope you like.

WOW! That looks fantastic, Gerry! I love how the red light flickers, that makes it.

Thanks guys.

The only other lighting I had done was plugging the wires into jacks. This was the first time I had to solder on a circuit board and I was more than a tad bit unsure I could do such tiny work. But the instructions from VooDooFX were very good, their kit is quite nice.

The light does more than pulse. There's a whole light show where all the lights flicker and pulse. Quite nice.

Thanks .

The finish is Model Masters BRASS non-buffing metalizer for airbrush.

It's a bright, polished brass finish, not a dull finish. But not as yellow as GOLD nor as red as COPPER.

Well, I liked it, I think it fits nicely.
