I just had to check this out, just awesome.

Here you have some pics showing how the first replica looks like. The pieces have been joined just with a glue touch, so we can separate them after (we are painting it piece by piece). You may notice they’re gaps between junctions but, once builded, they match perfectly.

You may notice some of the pieces have been already painted. That’s just an example-advance of the technique we’re using for painting the model. Although it’s the first paint layer, the AT-AT looks much better.

It is an impressive model.

Man, please come with us, we definitely need your expertise to finish this stuff!!! :) Yeah, you are mentioning the right way to give the model some strengh, but we'll evaluate that once made the molds and the resin replicas. We're trying to use light resin, so we'll see then. If it doesn't work, we'll buy your comment. Keep in touch!!

Very epic build. One of the best features is the legs. All of the Kenner `toy`versions get the legs wrong. An AT-ATs legs originate from the centre of the `body`and have extra joints. You did that part justice, very cool!!

Impressive build!

Rob: At 1/48 scale and 40cm tall their AT-AT would be taller than the 80's Kenner toy AT-AT.

Movie Kits: The metal bolts fastening the main joints are the best solution for the strength required vrs. scale accuracy. You may need to cut your own threads through a steel disc and grind the nuts down lower to completely hide. Stop by a metal fabrication / machine shop to bounce ideas off them.

Something as simple as a can of soda or a smart phone in the shot would help.

How big is this model? You should place some standard sized common item in the photo so we can see the size.

This is mr favourite vehicle from Star Wars. I wish I could find a kit of it. I think Fine Molds used to make one.

Is this a one off? Or do you plan on mass producing them?
