Space Battleship Missouri, or at least, my rendition of it

Interesting design, desugn udeas can be addicting.  It's not quite the way I would have changed her but I like it.  I was thinking of adding a Iowa class to my Starblazer fleet but I had a request for a WWII Big Mo build.  I guess the British battleship will be my next victim.

As long as you are thinking of a carrier, what about support ships for yhour fleet?  Cruisers, destroyers and even cargo ships coiuld be done as lond as they are in roughly the same scale,  They don't have to be exactly the same.If you get bold, or crazy, you couild take a coiuple of hte aircraft from the carrier kit and modify them into space fighters.  Something ot think about.

Thanks ikar, I was thinking about modifying the air group that comes with the kit as well.

These were based on the IJN Yamato, Bismark, and a German destroyer, respectively.  I'm thinking of making the British batleship a twin engine.

I may get a crappy cruiser model some where and try that. I have all kinds of ideas for the carrier.

Remember, think over what you want to accomplish with the idea and kit, make it look reasonable and not cartoonish.  I think I may have done this with my Interdiiction ship,  too many weapons.

Heh heh, no, I just meant if that's what you were going to call it.  Remember?  That was the main armament of the Argo/Yamato.  For practical purposes, it was just big hole in the bow, with a ribbed detail from the outer edge of the opening, running back into the aperture.

Worked some on the engine attachment to the nozzel.  Some cuting, styrine sheet, glue......sanding, filling.....pict to follow when I'm complete.

Got very little done to the Mo. I added some sheet sprue for the nozzel farring and some putty. I need to do a lot of sanding to streighten and smooth.

I did some sanding and more filling.

Thank you arbit. I'm finishing up a couple of ships before getting back on this. It should'nt be too much longer.

Getting back to the Mo now that the other builds are wrapping up. I sanded, added more filler, repeat, repeat, repeat. Finally thought I had it good enough to paint it black to see where I was and what needed attention.

Not as bad as I thought, just a little more to go. Once this is done I'm just going to attach the other engine nozzel to the lower section, then on to the superstructure.

I had some time to work on the SBMO. The engine nozzles are complete and now working on the "pods" on the wings and tail. Using drop tanks of course. I'm also thinking of ways to make the gun barrels more futuristic.

I was looking into using the missle caps off my Ohio boomer as the old fasion ray gun look but not really sold on the idea. I'll keep looking through the boxs for something but I may end up with the cone idea.

This is awesome. I too started this kit. What a huge disappointment the actual kit is.  I guess you get what you pay for ($10) I am gonna build mine as a technique practice  / Paint mule but you took it a lot further and it looks awesome!

It's a pig of a kit, nothing fits, flashing everywhere, extreamly poor detail, just right for kitbashing 

I built it as a kid and spent hours "sailing" it in the grass with the Arizona and Bismarck predending sea battles. Of course I didn't see it as the total disaster it is, it was a super fun toy, and that's what it was designed for.

I'm building the superstructure when something else is drying. What a mess, but I have ideas on how to deal and add to it. Lots of filler. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the 5" mounts yet.
