Very nice builds.
I used to be into Warhammer, mostly 40k stuff a lot. I am in the (long-term) process of building and painting a Necron army for a good friend of mine. I did some Eldar stuff for myself, as well as some Warhammer fantasy Orc and Brettonia knights stuff.
I still have an Eldar force waiting to be painted, but that probably won't be done in a while.

Nice stuff! My only comment would be some more varied weathering (drybrushing, washes, etc.).

Otherwise, good job!

I have bought a couple of Tau tanks on Ebay (Devilfish and Hammerhead), I haven't got them yet though.
They cost about £10 each including postage (both from the same seller). Still fairly expensive compared to
non-Warhammer models but a fraction of the shop costs.
Ebay is a very good place to buy WH40K models but the trouble is you can never guarantee that you'll find the model
you want at a price you're prepared to pay, and that you won't be outbid (I haven't managed to pick up any Imperial
Guard models so far, other than a job lot of Leman Russ and Sentinel walker, which again hasn't arrived yet)

It's interesting to see some of the real-life AFV inspiration for the Warhammer tanks.
The Land Raider, for example, is very like the British WW1 Mk. I to V tank series. The Rhino and Razorback
closely resemble the US M113 or British FV432, whilst the turret for the Predator tank is virtually a carbon
copy of the one on the British Scorpion/Scimitar tank. The Vindicator artillery tank's front-mounted mortar
looks very much like the German Sturmtiger or Brummbar.
The Leman Russ and Demolisher is also very reminiscent of WW1 tanks in appearance, but the turret and hull-mounted
cannon make it distinctly Char B1-like. Whilst the turret shape seems to have been inspired by the British Saladin armoured
car.

Some of the earlier WH40K models had a rather "cartoony " look (particularly the early Land Raiders and Predators) but I think the newer models have a good balance between "realism" and distinctiveness.

The Eldar and Tau vehicles have a very futuristic look which contrasts with the chunky and rather WW1-styled Imperial vehicles. My personal favourite of them all is probably the Eldar Falcon grav tank, it's a very distinctive design which resembles a mixture of spaceship, tank and hovercraft.

Anyway, I'll post some more pics when I have completed some more models!

Sorry.. it's just after doing a search for "warhammer 40k" on the Sci-Fi Forum there were some less than complimentary remarks (e.g "cardboard boxes with pencils stuck in them) about Warhammer vehicles, so I thought I'd better check first :)

Anyway, here they are...

Space Marines "Rhino" armoured personnel carrier in the colours of the "Dark Angels" chapter. Slightly customised with
an extra anti-aircraft gun mounted on the rear hatch. (The hatch cover was missing from the model when I got it, so I thought I'd better provide a reason for it being missing :D )
You can see a flag-carrying Dark Angels Marine disembarking in the final photo. The third photo (rather overexposed unfortunately) shows the quite detailed interior, I added a couple of bolter rifles stowed on one side of the compartment but they are not really visible here.

Space Marines combat motorbike in "White Scars" chapter colours.
Though it looks pretty good in this photo, this model doesn't have a particularly good paint finish; I first painted it
with Revell semi-matt white, which (despite being a brand new tin), unfortunately refused to either cover or set properly, and remained sticky. So I stripped it off as best I could with enamel thinners, and re-painted the model with Humbrol matt white. This set OK but does not cover very well, so the model required two coats - combined with the Revell white remaining in the inaccessible crevices, this meant that the finer details of this model are rather blurred and obscured.
My "Ultramarines" bike (see below) should hopefully be an improvement!

Space Marines "Blood Angels" chapter troops.
This isn't a particularly good photo, unfortunately the other 2 photos were out-of-focus so this is the only one I could use. One has a bolter rifle, the other a missile launcher.

3 work-in-progress vehicles:
A Space Marines "Land Speeder" attack hovercraft, Space Marines Blood Angels chapter, another Space Marines bike (Ultramarines chapter) and an Eldar jetbike in the colours of Saim-Hann craftworld.

The Landspeeder is assembled and painted with the base coat, but needs another coat of red, detail painting, decals and weathering. The Ultramarines bike needs some slight retouching of the blue paint, weathering, and decals, whilst the Eldar jetbike just needs decals (and a pilot/rider, unfortunately I don't have one yet :D )

Note that all of these models are second-hand examples purchased on Ebay. All of them except for the White Scars bike (which was acquired as an unbuilt kit) were already painted and assembled, so I have stripped them down and dismantled them prior to rebuilding.

Yea, post away dude! You're killing us with the teasing prospect of pictures!
We need our fix, man!!! Wink [;)]
I just got interested into building some of the WH40K stuff myself. Got a friend in Australia who's into it big time & he got me some of the figures to try my hand at. Wish me luck! Tongue [:P]

In case you haven't heard of "WH40K" (it's not as popular in the US as here in Britain, I think), it's a tabletop
wargaming system (rather similar to some of the WW2 wargame systems played using scale models), based on a sci-fi universe set in the 41st millennium (hence the name).

It uses model vehicles and figures which are about 1/40 scale and are constructed from plastic and white-metal kits.
The models are quite intricate and detailed (the more recent ones at least) and the vehicles are as complex as many 1/35
AFV kits.
When assembled, painted and weathered with care, these models can look as impressive as many "real-life" armour models (and usually a good deal more colourful :) )

Apologies if the above explanation is superfluous and you already know about WH40K - I'm just not sure how many people here have heard of it!

Anyhow, I've recently become interested in this subject (modelling, not gaming, for the time being at least) and have purchased a lot of second-hand vehicles and figures of all types cheaply on Ebay.
So far I've completed a number of models including an armoured personnel carrier, motorbike, jetbike and some figures.
