For those of us who like Godzilla and building goji kits:

By the way, there are a couple of pics of a huge Goji kit in the article. He has less of that goofy anime look that he's taken on recently. Do we have the good old Goji back, or is he still anime-zilla from the latest movies? I dislike the new look so much that I haven't bothered to see the movies lately.

Hi, Larry!
I saw Final Wars Saturday night, and loved it!
GFW is much more interesting and entertaining than the recent Millennium series. Tons of monsters, a super-nutso, over-the-top story, unrelenting action, and a viciously unstoppable Godzilla. I really like the new G-design, particularly when compared to the recent "super spiky" G design. Angilas stole the show, though. Really cool.

I haven't seen many kits yet, but I've picked up a few of the decent figures that are out.

One of the best movies of the series for me was still "Godzilla vs Destroyer".

god man Godzilla is a cult Icon one of the finest movie monsters to ever come out of the ocean and every now and then they show a Godzilla movie on the Sci-Fi channel I've always loved that big reptile second to Chewbacca though.

I have to say that the look from G2K and GODZILLA X MEGAGUIRAS really grew on me. I think the key was seeing it in motion in the film, and that of course was the skill of the suitmation actor. I just put the finishing touches on a Tsukuda G2k that I reposed after a scene in GXM. The Tsukuda had a nice body sculpt, but the pose was very boring - the typical Godzilla looking straight ahead. The tail was lifeless and horribly short - the tail on the Bandai toys look better! I ended up making extra segments and extending the tail by at least 33% (give or take a spike).

I also pulled out the vinyl Kaiyodo G55 to try to finish up (needs more drybrushing and wash). I seem to recall that this one was a relatively bad kit, in terms of the way the pieces didn't fit together well, but you know that just takes some putty and a bit of sculpting to take care of. He sure looks alot like the new GFW version Godzilla, even down to the pose...

Yeah... my website could sure use an update... Maybe I can get around to that today. I also finished up the Billiken G68. I resculpted the "eyebrow" ridges a bit and I am extremely happy with that kit now. Also finished the Resin Chef G68 at the same time (hey, 2 kits with the same paint scheme - makes things easier when you only need to drag out one set of paints for both) so I can try to get them on the site...

I'd like to see what you did with the ridges, as I'm about start on that kit as well.

Looking forward to seeing your pix!Big Smile [:D]

I just couldn't seem to find the time yesterday to post the pics, but basically what I did...

I'm sure you noticed that the eyebrow ridges look smaller and more sloped back than the way the suit looked in the film. Fortunately there are quite a few good dvd releases and books available for reference as to how the eyebrows should look. So I just took small amounts of sculpting compound (Aves Apoxy is my preference) and added small amounts to the ridges to bring them out a bit. Textured them , of course. I'll try to get to those pictures tonight....

While I was at it, I textured over the "zipper" in the back and the eyehole/vents in the neck. I guess Billiken likes to make their sculpt look like the actual monster "suit", but I want it to look like a "monster", so I "surgically" removed them. Monster plastic surgery!

The vinyl on that G68 kit is really thick! I found that I had to take the knife and carve away at the inside of the spikes to get them to fit over the little "posts" on Godzilla's back. If you test fit them, you'll see what I mean.

I hope this isn't his last movie...that would be very disappointing. Disapprove [V]
