Kewl! I thought the markings added some "Pizzazz" to the hull. I'd be interested in ordering a set of 'em.

I'm willing to bet that somebody over at Federation Models is printing them out as we speak! i wasn't too fond of the "lightening bolts" or "scrambled eggs" that were on the hull but considering that the vessel has vertually no profile to speak of what can ya do?

["scrambled eggs"- naval nick name for gold leaf design worn on officer's hats. My stepfather was in the Navy in the 'Nam era so that's where I got the term from.lol]

The Defiant was Hot!! I thought the "Empire markings" on Enterprise were Kewl Looking. Any chance someone will come out with decals for the 1:350 NX-01??

Now THAT is freakin BRILLIANT! Imagine episodes like the Ultimate Computer or Doomsday Machine with new effects! The M-5 equiped enterprise laying the "smack down" on all those other Constitution class ships. Or scene actually depicting the battle between the Constilation and the Domms Day machine! Or the Enterprise and the Romulan bird of Prey in Balance of Terror. It would be so cool to see the original bird of prey "swooping" through space using digital effects. Man i could go on and on! The TOS Filming Miniature Enterprise was indeed quite large (11ft), but what makes it "zoom" is the actual cinematogrophy process. The size of the model wouldn't matter for all those movement shots, as the camera is what generally does the movement when the filming of the miniatures is generally concerned, whether for television of movies. So, they could have had Enterprise move like that in TOS, but it would have required a larger budget for those types of shots. We did get similar shots on occasion, tho. Just look at a lot of the opening title sequences. Plus, a lot of the starship scenes are closeups of the ship. You won't notice a lot of movement of a ship when you're right on it, as if you were only 20m from the hull!

They built a model for that episode, it wasn'r computer generated.

If you're referring to "Through a Mirror, Darkly", the Defiant shown there was all CGI. In fact, we've only seen CGI ships since the very first episode of ENT.

Well I just downloaded both episodes, and I converted them over to DVD.. Just watched them on my DVD player and believe me when I say that The Defiant looked sweet!!!!.. I have never been a big fan of the TOS Constitution class, but I guess thats because I have only seen it in a 1960's tv show.. But to see it done with todays technology, and to see it fly like a real ship (unlike TOS) it was simply a different perspective!..Now all they need to do, it digitally remaster all of the TOS episodes and bring them up to todays standards, and replace the old crap model enterprise flying scenes, and replace them with cgi.... I thought the same thing while watching the 2-parter. Why didn't they do this sooner. 'course we're talking about B&B. I think they both lost a few tiles on re-entry........
And shame on anybody that keeps re-hiring them.

I'd like a copy of both parts of that episode too, if anyone can.

Hello all

Sorry Midnightprowler. I just checked my tape and Enterprise already has Weds. Lost copied over it. Sad [:(]

Not only was the Defiant AMAZING to see, but I was thrilled to fianlly get ride of that cornball opening music. Why couldn't they have done this last season, instead of chasing Xindi through time portals in alernate dimensions..... Maybe then they woudl still have a show.

I just saw the end of that episode several days ago. To see an TOS Constitution Class starship bridge on a modern show was something else! Perhaps their' continuity department isn't that bad after allCool [8D]

I don't remember, but in the original series what happened to the Defiant?

According to its logs, the first recorded crew mutiny took part on the USS Defiant NCC-1764 on Stardate 5693. After going missing with all hands the ship was found dead in space near the Tholian border, where it was pulled into a spatial interphase - a realm between different planes of spatial coherence.

I have never seen a TOS Constitution Class look so cool! I think the rear photorp launches were a bit of a stretch but I don't care it was too cool! They didn't chang thing on the bridge an it still looked cool!
