Exactly. Taking the time to cancel the account instead of just letting it remain dormant almost feels like Cartman saying, "Screw you guys, I'm goin' home!" (Here's hoping most of you get that reference!)

Anyways, brian you are right. we are lacking the huuuuge part of anime scifi modelers here. There used to be that Gundam modelers' site I always go but after they "renovated" it the whole thing just disappeared!

I'm not sure what site you're referring to, but yeah, it's a shame.

Has a Gundam ever been featured on the cover of FineScale Modeler?
Funny, you could ask precisely the opposite of Hobby Japan!
When's the last time a Gundam wasn't on the cover?
Ah, must've been that time a Votoms kit or Patlabor kit was featured! Wink [;)]

Same here. As I mentioned above, I sincerely wish him the best and look forward to his return.

I also hopes he reads this and realizes it's not a good way to treat his compatriates.

Once, I can understand. Personal problems? Fine, no questions asked, no explanation needed.
Twice? I start to wonder...
The third time? My compassion begins to wear thin as I start to realize that the man has little or no regard for his fellow forum members. Or at least, that's how it appears.

Let's just hope he can muster up enough compassion and understanding for us as we do for him when he returns.

So it would seem! Except we never even got a "goodbye" from him...and this is the third time he's done exactly the same thing!
Anyone remember MadModelFactory? ModelMuseum? This time it was InModelershaven. I'm sure the next incarnation will be some manifestation of the word model as well.

I just can't figure the guy out...he has so much to offer the forums, and he seems to have a good time while he's here. The next thing you know, he just ups and cancels his account, with nary a word to those who have been communicating with him. Previously, he had started a web circle, a modelling newsletter, and several group builds, then suddenly cancelled his account and left them all in the lurch. I had heard that he had been experiencing some sort of personal difficulties that I will not venture to speculate on here, but as I've mentioned when he's done this in the past, no matter what's going on, it's just an insult for a person to simply walk away without saying a single word to the community, and then continually return without saying anything at all. Pretty strange behavior, if you ask me.

I write all this in the hopes that he might read it and reflect upon how his actions effect the community.

Heck, there are few enough folks here at FSM interested in science fiction, anime, and figures as it is! We can't afford to keep losing the same guy over and over! Wink [;)]

Here's hoping he lets us know when he's back...

Geez, you cancelled your account AGAIN? And right after I welcomed you back! What the heck is going on?
You were with us for a whole three months this time! I suppose you have your reasons for coming and going as you do...

I guess I'll never get to see those pix of your works. Too bad, because you always sounded like you really knew what you were doing.

Anyway, best of luck to you, and I reckon I'll be seeing you back around here in another couple of months or so! And I'll be the first to welcome you back when you return! Big Smile [:D]

Glad to hear that, since in all your times and previous incarnations here at FSM, I have yet to see any of your work! I'm really looking forward to seeing some pix. I'd like to see what you did with that Horizon ED-209. Or did you have the Argonauts kit? I remember you talking about the mods needed to accurize the Horizon kit.

Anyway, hello again, and welcome back, again. I welcomed you back in another thread, but alas, it went unanswered. I hope all is well with you.

A Compromise and a Purchase.

Hi All.

Just had a heart to heart talk with the Boss(aka Wife) and she laid down the law as follows:

She won't interfere in me purchasing kits as long as the following rules are met:
1.) Resin, Vinyl Garage Kits are put into a Display-case(designed by me) with NO doors.
2.) No Plastic Models except for a few (Dio) to go into the Display case.
3.) All finished models are to be photographed and gotten rid off with the exception of the ones for the display case and others that are stored properly in their own cases/boxes marked properly. In short Resin and other expensive/collector kits.
4.) No semi-finished kits to be seen by Visitors.

So I guess I will have to break out the ol' Digi Camera and start shooting away as I got TONS of finished kits to dispose/sell/trade. Wink [;)]

The Display case is already designed and only uses wood, fake mirrors and acrylic sheeting(another one of her requirements).

Current plan is to create a website that will host the images of kits that I have and will finish.
Personally, I have no probs with the arrangement as I am more of a builder than a Collectors, said that I guess I have some 300+ kits(don't ask how much I paid for those Black Eye [B)])in storage and if they were all finished we would be living on the Veranda. Smile [:)]

Ok, enough of that. Now onto my recent purchase.

Just got the 1/100 MG ACGUY by Bandai, which after the Z'Gok and Zaku is my favorite Zeon design.
Only checked the instruction sheet and the kit seems a standard MG kit(too much hidden detail and too little real detail).
Nice touch is the display stand, figs and the water whirls for the feet and 2 torpedoes and I am asking myself where are the whirls for the backpack??

They are shown in an image in the instructions but not included. Angry [:(!]
