better to have and not need

then to need and not have

i figured this would be a heavy (ier) fighter between th eXwing and the Y wing  has the same speed if not more then a x-wing but can punish as much as a Y wing can

almost done with this  got the turret done just have to lay down some paint  im going to tap it in place in case i find a better turret idea

glad you like it

This is a really cool bash, and I've enjoyed looking it over as it comes together.

I do have a question about it... What would be the "practicality" of such a craft as this in actual service?

That looks really cool. I think I may try this but in the middle section put a B-Wing style engine. Keep up the good work.
I am a man, But I can change. If I have to....I guess...

well i hit it with some primer in spots to find some bad spots and i see i have a few to fix

added the rear facing torpedo launcher on the bottom and extra sensors and intake and exhaust fans

also during flight testing it was found that the to fusealages would seperate slightly during tight turns and steep climbing so a brace and small manuver wings where added to the front thses also allow for a steeper dive pullout

well here you go any comments will only help

thx

The Double-X wing... I thought of doing almost the excact thing your doing years ago but ran out of room, patience, time, etc... IOWs ...burned out...not long after that idea !.

I always thought this would be an excellent project, your doing a great job proving it was a good idea afterall ! Mine kept both cockpits one for pilot, one for bombedier.

Keep it going,  I'm building it along side you, if only in spirit!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the finish product.

Love it.  As a strategic light bomber, it would be perfect.  Any ideas for the type of agb/m you are going to use?

I liked a lot your ideia, keep going at this job. Sadly, I only have ONE X-Wing to spare in projects like this. Sadly...

I have a similar idea with my old MPC/AMT Incom T-65; I need to reduce the overall length of the fuselage by reducing the nose and reshaping it and modifying the rear. I will install two sleek engine pods to the sides (similar layout to the Y-Wing). I've loved aircrafts with a center pod like the P-38 and OV-10 Bronco. All those panel lines will be filled smooth, and reestablish them by using a technical drawing pen after painting. I am doing some sketches before I start cutting.

Also, I need to take some test shots since I am having lighting problems (overexposure) on close subjects with my digital camera.

Happy Modeling,

OK this is going to be a dual x-wing like the old P-82s from the korea war the dual mustangs

the middle section will have one or two engines plus a blaster and maybe extra proton launchers or maybe a bomb type thing

the second cockpit will get flaired over and given a small turret controlled by the seconded R2 unit

any suggestions are welcome
heres the start just the basic center section

did this about a yr ago in photoshop and finally got the kits at K-Bee toys for $7 a peice
