I doubt they'd be contest-winners, but I try to put a good bit of detailing into my models. Despite my "assembly line" approach ( moving on to another kit while the first one of the night has cement, putty, paint drying, etc. ) giving some variety, I still get to the point that I've worked on the models for a while and feel rather apathetic because of the slow progress.
Anyone else get that feeling? Sometimes the results of a few sessions seem not enough for the time put in and a wierd mix of boredom or apathy for a project sets in and it goes in storage for a while.
I think I found my cure. Recently I ordered some of the old small-scale Star Blazers ships. In one weekend I had 3 with primer coats and 4 more halfway through building. All this AND progress on some of the bigger projects that have been in the works! The results on the mini-kits were immediate and gave some motivation to get more done on the ones in storage.
