Only if you added a couple of dirigible airframes.  Wink [;)]

Well of course it doesn't look 'right' Griff! Without wings and engines, it might look like a ship!

Maybe I should've added the AZ shafts and props!Shock [:O]

Now there's somethin' ya don't see every day!

Only thing I don't care for is the wings and engines.  They're too...  I dunno.  They just don't quite look right w/the rest of it, strange as that sounds.

Overall, tho, I like it.  Nice 'bash!

reply to PM......post it here man! You can't see the pics there.

Yep, the 'rear' wing is basswood, some superstructure built up, with the AZ bridgeworks put on top.....It suffers from not applying a wash for the details, but I virtually 'finished' this thing 2 days before being released from the hospital.

The USS Missouri parts are 5" and 40mm mounts, radar dishes from a built kit someone discarded. Decals were an afterthought that some other Vet offered up. I just sawed thru the top of the S-3 wings, cambered them down and filled with basswood and plastic wood....you can see the sanding points.

The turrets were all problematic on the aft fuse....built a false floor of wood and mounted the AZ guns in them......the wing turrets were fairly easy.....found some 'quarter-sized' wooden disks left by workmen....cut them in and mounted the mounts!

The underbelly was the bay doors hinged opposite to form gun galleries....and yes, I used 'bubble plastic' to see the rooms.....but it crazed from something.....and I shot ther pics with a disposable camera.

Thanks!Propeller [8-]

Now the question remains: Can she handle atmo?

Isn't that what shied generators are for?

Inertial drives leave no "exhaust trails", which is why the Velocity Amplifier drive was invented.

A Focused Translocator Cannon, is basicly a transporter....without all the computer needed for re-assembly at the destination. Mass in, Mass out....in the heart of the densest mass of the target,at the same instant in time, = BOOM! Put two of them, aimed at the center of a spherical refractory, and the energy can be harnessed and used to power the vessel.

Lead me not into temptation ..................I can find it myself

Lt, awesome Bash Project. I like "No Holding Back" modeling. That is what the hobby is about, using your imagination and skills. Thanks for sharing the pics.Bow [bow]

Holy Censored [censored] that is COOL!!!

Nam, I could never build something like this as my imagination is much more limited.  I applaud not only your creativity, but your workmanship as well.  Very well done my friend, can't wait to see some of your winged-thingies!

Now that is cool.  It looks kind of like the SDF-1 from Macross/Robotech.  IT would be cool to see it photoshopped into a space background.

Now the question remains: Can she handle atmo?

Hi! I'm really just a prop plane builder, but a few years ago during a long hospital stay, I got ahold  of a few odd kits and got a little crazy:

This was born from: Two USS Arizona kits, One USS Missouri kit and a 1/48th S-3 Viking kit, some basswood, plastic wood, wood glue, CA, Testor's tube glue, Testor's white putty, Testor's silver and copper, and rattle can paint from the hardware.

I began with building the hull/main deck of the AZ....then cut off the forecastle and afterdeck/fantail portions and discarded the center section. Using 1/8th inch basswood, bulkheads were custom fit into each of the remaining sections (sorry, no WIP picsSad [:(])

Next, the S-3 fuselage was assembled with a basswood 'box' in place of the cockpit. The 'box' had 'rooms' made from basswood and were fitted with imaginary electronic gear made from various scraps and parts.

The radome nose was left off and a basswood bulkhead custom fit into the hole. About 2 1/2" of the tall vertical stabilizer was sawed off and a wooden bulkhead used to fill that hole. Cannot recall entirely, but I think I lopped off some aft fuselage and fitted a bulkhead there.

Then I joined my three 'main' sections, bulkhead to bulkhead with Elmer's wood glue:

That was the only real WIP photo I took...too bad. The bracing between the sections is 1/8th basswood stock and the bracing is perfectly symetrical from port to starboard. Some bracing at the rear was from coffee stirring sticks with the rounded ends cut off. The ventral 'fins' are the horizontal stabilizers in the rear and the vertical stabilizer up front, from the S-3. At least the thing had something to stand on.

I realize this is getting very wordy.....I'll just post some more pics and if anyone wants more details of the build, I'll be happy to post. Sorry the pics are at bad viewing angles.....I'm Photoshop challenged.

Thanks!
