A word on scales....
I have been working with a number of different ship models lately, mostley 1/350, and it seems to me that all things considered, 1/200 appears to be the best scale to work with for 20th century/modern ship kits. I know this is an apparent contradiction of the most prevalent current scales (1/350, 1/144 and 1/72), but all things considered, it seems that 1/200 offers the best combination of detail, variety of ships that can be dealt with appropriately, to the best level for detail and the best level for 'functional' modelling (i.e., static display, RC, etc). I would be very interested to hear what other modellers think about the subject (and before you comment, you need to have built at LEAST one 1/200 kit to be considered!). So what do you think?
