Thanks for the info jtilley,
The Trumpeter 1/700 Ticonderoga kit arrived a couple of days ago, but i did not open it until yesterday. I was suprised and pleased to find that a box of aircraft were already included. I still ordered the additional aircraft kit mentioned, because the ones included with the carrier do not have folded wings, and I really don't want to try to modify such a small scale aircraft without backups (I am concerned that I would lose too much wing in the cutting process. I am going to order the decal sets you suggested;it is a pain that you have to use snail mail, but I have the time.
Question:I need to make the decision as to whether to make the full hull or waterline.I know it is a personal choice, but I am open to suggestions and thoughts. This will be my first ship model in many years and I have never done a waterline model. The Trumpeter kit includes both options with a display stand for the full hull model and a transparent blue base for the waterline model. I wonder if it is possible to do the waterline model first, then add the lower hull if I find that I do not like the looks of it?
EdGrune, Thanks for the info on the font program. I think I will go with the decal sets mentioned by jtilley, as they include the aircraft markings and whatnot. If I go the font download way,the total cost will likely be too much.Thank anyway for the tip, much appreciated
