Thanks for the post- neat site. I remember hearing several months ago that someone was coming out with a kit of the Langley.  Since then, never heard a thing.  Was it a bad rumor?

Hey Don

Are you thinking about the Ironshipwrights Langley in 1/350 scale?

Could be.  But, can't afford that price.  Maybe I should scratch it.  Have built a number of scratch ships.  Just need good scale drawings.  Anyone know where I could get Langley drawings?

Loose Cannon Productions has LANGLEY (which, BTW, may be the USN's first carrier, but was NOT the first carrier in the world) available in 1/700 scale.

Hey Jake, thanks for posting the link to Weeville!  I'm the proprietor of the Weeville website.

It's my hobby.  I only SPEND money keeping it up.  I've been adding to it for about 11 years.

It's mostly PG-rated humor, but a vast collection of this and that.  Whatever I ever got on email that made me laugh or smile is on there.

The reason I signed up and wanted to say hello, among all the things on the site that I think is the most amazing... have you folks seen this, either on the Weeville site or somewhere else?

I looked at the Loose Cannon Langley kit ... all that PE to hold up the flight deck scared me Indifferent ... I figure at my age I'm doing good to get the railings and whatnot on a regular 1/700 build. Still and all, an impressive kit.

Loose Cannon also makes a USS Birmingham in 1:700 scale resin & brass

Here taking on Ely's plane.

And msfob,  the PE under the deck of the Langley shouldn't be all that frightening.   I've not seen exactly how Hugh at LC drew it up,   but I provided him some copies of NARA drawings as well as some info from other sources.    If Hugh did it anything like the way Ted Paris at ISW drew his deck support latticework - it will go together with a minimum of hassle
