JCon,
They have been our of production for about 20 years. The reason is because the ship was not as well known as the Cutty Sark and it was not selling as well. Revell of Germany just re-released it I think. But Ebay has them on there from time to time. below are a few links to check out. If you go to a bid high of $75.00 thats a fair price, so expect it to go for that much, but you might get it cheaper, The new ones sell for 80.00. But logic dictates that I would rather spend 80.00 on new then 75.00 on old.
I have the Ther. and will build it like the Barque. I have also wrote an instruction manual to help modelers build the CS but it will also help the themop. builders, as the same rules and techniques apply. email off bb and I will send it to you.
The first two models are the large 1/96th. scale version,. The next one is the 1/220th scale version. Thermo. was not a true sister of the CS but they were similar is design. The main differance is the following.
Figure head (Roman Centurian)
After hatch (instad of deck house)
Poop deck deck house ( CS had a sharper design)
The main hull color was a meduin green.
You can build the model as a SHIP or a BARQUE It come with both options in all the models kits.
