You might want to check out the TRMA.  A gentleman by the name of Art Braunschweiger did just that on his 1/350 Minicraft kit and his steam pipes look outstanding (along with the rest of his model).  You can see his progress on the funnels here.

You might try using a soldering pen for a spot application of heat to bend the plastic.  Or, try replacing the plastic "water pipes" with copper wire of the appropriate diameter...

I have attempted to bend the water pipes that attach to # 3 funnel. To accurize them they should be shortened about 5 mm. Repeated efforts to bend them have resulted in breaking them so they are  useless.

If anyone has been successful in accurizing each set of pipes and then bending them to fit onto the funnel I would sure appreciate any tips. I am frustrated with my attempts.   Thanks,Iceberg
