Ugh! You know, I got excited when I saw it, then I began to look more closely at stock photos. I could tell it resembled a smaller scale Galleon kit they produced in the old days, but I hoped that this was a wholly different product. I can now see that the design and detail are lacking, and it doesn't seem so great (looks pretty sloppy, actually)....And you're right....the Sterncastle looks way too big and blocky....
Thanks for the heads-up!
It's was too good to be true...shame that my visual taste in ship kits is under-represented in the market.
I'd love to find a dramatic-looking Galleon-type ship, of a (as you said) 3-foot size, designed well, made with decent-quality molds, and that will challenge me and reward my efforts with satisfaction and beauty.
So far, the only ships I've fallen in love with are the Wasa, and the Swan...the latter of which is the closest I've found to what I want to build so far, despite it's various subjective shortcomings.
And I realize this fits better on a different active thread, but I was considering that I may not be prepared to begin the HECEPOB (!) Berlin for some time, and I hope to find another plastic kit that suits my fancy in the meantime....but they are few.
