I'm working on the nautical workhorses and I have trouble finding reference material for the southern belle steam ship. If anybody can help greatly appreciate it

You'll have to be more specific about which ship. I suspect there were dozens of ships around with that name.  I assume it was a passenger liner on one of the rivers, is that correct?  Not familiar with the ship, but for reference look for any of the southern university history departments that have ship info archives.

Specifically, it's a 'sternwheel steamer,' or simply a 'sternwheeler.' Google those, and you should be on your way.

There is a great book, The Wester Rivers Steamboat Cyclopedia, by Alan Bates, that details construction and details of paddle steamers used on western rivers (Mississippi, Missouri, and such).  This may allow you to add detail not included in the kit.

MOOSE,you picked some odd ones, didn,t you ? The " SOUTHERN BELLE " is documented as to type in a book called DAWDLING THE DELTA- by HAL SCHELL. He was a local celebrity where I lived up in the SACRAMENTO delta. There are many photos of those types in the book. good luck.    TANKER-builder
