Another Restoration

I've seen ships built like that for sale at the N.J. Shore and up in New England selling at outlandish prices. I always thought that the builder could have put a little extra work in them to justify the price. Know you'll do a great job.

Thanks, I just finished rigging the port fore shouds, (no ratlines yet)  waitign for stain to dry.

Some updates. Getting a new section of deck to match any model is always the main challenge. A few tried and true techniques I've learnee over the past 30 years come in handy. The pictures below show the work in progress.

Looking great Jake. What kind of line are you using? It really looks like rope.

The line is plain jane regular knitting string. once you run it through bees wax it takes on a beautiful quality and does indeed look like rope.  I used the same material for the heavy forstays on the recently completed USS Constitution - in black.  They make several colors and you can get it at Wal-mart, Hobby Lobby, Jo-Anns etc.

I'll need to use a mirror, I'm not going to be able to remove it from the stand, I'll let you know.  You did not by chance put those slats of tealk for the ratlines did you? Because if so........we need to talk buddy ;)

 Thanks for that .I did one out in CALIFORNIA , when I lived there and it could've been the twin .I did the same you are doing except the customer wanted the ratlines left alone .Go figure .
