Looking for tips on build sequence for painting measure 32 camo

I generally paint the PE on the plate before removing the parts. I figure out the dominant color and then paint the plate that color.  For remaining pieces, I paint them one of two ways. If the piece is small I brush paint it (on top of prime and first color coat).  Only the larger remaining pieces see the airbrush.  With small pieces, I can paint them after assembly with a small brush, so those small pieces I find I have painted the wrong color can be corrected after gluing in place.  I never mask a PE piece after gluing it to a model.  I am afraid glue will not stick to the pe piece that well.  Even with primer, paint adhesion to either brass or stainless is not that great.

The answer is, it's not easy and you need to take your time. It's hard edged at least, so you can use a brush.

You are right- masking and spraying installed railings isnt going to work. Other single colored subassemblies are easier.

If you spray what you can, and then install the rest and brush, you should be fine. I find that ship models are pretty much brush jobs except the bigger areas.

Does Gator make a mask set?
