Trumpeter's 1/350 Prinz Eugen is a great kit. Both kits of the San Francisco are equally great. I also like their HMS Belfast.

I would love any of the Japanese carriers, it's just too bad they are so pricy. That's a bummer about the Hiryu, it's a toss up with Fujimi. I purchased a 1/24 BMW E series car from them for $40 last year, it was a piece of trash! Monogram and AMT do so much better for half the price, at least in the car arena.

I would hold onto it and wait for Trumpy to bring out the 1-350 Ark Royal.....Cheers mark

I like your choice Steve. I too have been eyeing the 1/350 Prinz Eugen for awhile. I have the San Francisco 1942 with the Gold Medal PE set, Master Model barrells for all guns and the Model Master 20mm Oerlikons, which are beautiful models in themselves. I have only heard good things about the SF.

If I had a $150 to spend on a model ship, it would be on a 1/350 Kitty hawk, or a Kennedy.

But, since we know your tastes, Steve, a 1/350 WW2 Japanese carrier would be really cool!

There are two Trumpeter kits of the USS San Francisco in 1/350, one in 1942 and the other in 1944. The differences are quite profound. They might make a nice comparison display.

My point exactly. You can buy $75.00 models over time, but never have the chance to geta really good $200.00 one.

Yeah GH, I really have my eye on that one too.

Course there is always the 1/72 Gato at 4'4".......  Would put your U-boat in it's place....and only around a buck or so.

Go big or go home, as they say... pony up another benjamin and do a 1/200 Rodney.

Been telling my family for years to get me E-gift certificates for Christmas.

CA-38 will need the PE set. I think I used Toms, not sure but I'll find out.

I'm contemplating the Fujimi 1/350 Kaga,Amazon has it for $186.00 with free shipping.

Haven't pulled the trigger,can't seem to find a review.

I may get the San Francisco. I believe you were saying it was a nice kit. I can find it just north of $50 with shipping. That would leave me some leftover for something additional like a PE set and something else.
Maybe an Essex or something modern. Funny I know exactly what I want when I don't have the money.

My favorite and a future buy will be the Merit Enterprise, CV-6.  She is in Santa Cruz outfit, only with TBD's instead of TBF's.  IIRC, she has some PE in the kit....around 160 to 180, if you can find her right now.

Or how about one of the Alaska class Battle Cruisers.......

Well I would fill a few gaps in my 1/350 ship collection. Either USS San Francisco 1942 or USS Indianapolis for a US Cruiser. HMCS Eskimo or Huron for a RN Destroyer. Or perhaps an Arleigh Burke class DDG. Those have really grown on me over the past couple of years after seeing them tied up at Seal Beach uploading or offloading weapons. Beautiful ships.

I guess I might either go for the Revell (formerly Matchbox) 1/72 scale Flower Class Corvette or one of the 1/350 scale Trumpeter Battleship Tsesarevich models (either depicting her in 1904 or 1917).

I'm not big on modern unless it's subs. The Hase Yamato is going for $100 for the standard to over $200 for the premium kit.
WW1 is an option.

I find myself wanting both of Trumpeter's West Virginia BB-48 kits. One is circa 1941, the other is 1945 after the incredible rebuild she underwent after Pearl Harbor. I would display them both together
