at this scale pe rails are very difficult. I use white glue, and I lay a thin line of the glue along the edge of the ship where the rail needs to go. I let the glue dry a bit then place the cut section of rail on the glued section. to go around obstacles I struggle a lot and lose many pieces of p/e railing. Good luck
Baron,
First, simply cutting them from the manufacturer's framework is an exercise in frustration given that there is no clear demarcation between rails. Second, correctly shaping them around the barbattes when they are difficult to see is maddening. It was easier in 1/350 scale. But, this is one cross we bear when modeling 1/700!

warshipguy Very beautiful! Could you please explain how you worked with the railings? I am still having fits with the railings on my 1/700 Kirishima. Bill

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
I bought the stantions in the lamp fittings section at Ace Hardware. They are threaded on the inside.

Very nice!
What are those mounting stanions? Were they supplied in the kit? They almost look like some sort of ammo cartridge.

Very good work Bill. Glad to see this one cross the finish line.

Nice finish! How is the kit's detail?
Looks really good. Makes me want to start my U.S.S. New York BB-34. You did a very nice job on her.
