wip- revell 1/110 HMS Bounty *mast added*

JT I would move them if twer me. They'd be just above the mast cap at each cross tree or top. It's easy now and will get hard later.

I concur with Cap'nMac about the positions of the yards.  But, I have to say that your furled sails are very well done! I am impressed!

I got some more parts painted, I wanted the masts to be a lighter color than the rest of the wood like an oak looking color so I painted them with flesh craft paint then went over with raw umber oils and some paynes grey to make shadows

also went with a bronze figure head, it shows the nice detail in it better than painting it i think

Simply gorgeous work! I am very impressed.  I must say that I have never seen the Bounty in blue like that, but it is very striking.  It is reminiscent of Le Soleil Royal.

Thanks! I was going to go with a green paint, but changed my mind in the end. 

I just stuck it on the stand for the pics lol, I might make some kind of nicer stand for it in the end. 

Very nice indeed. I wouldn't have used the blue paint, but that sort of thing is entirely up to the individual modeler.

You do know (don't you?) that the stand is on backward. Some photos of it displayed that way were up for a while on the Revell websites, but the instructions in the earlier releases (including the first one, in 1956 - make it clear that the two posts are supposed to be in front. If you turn the stand around I think you'll see that the model looks a lot better.

(Five minute update: I just checked the current issue's instructions on the Revell Germany website ( http://manuals.hobbico.com/rvl/80-5404.pdf ). The photo on the first page shows the stand backward, but the actual instructions show it mounted properly. It's illustrated in Step 17.)

got paint on her, I airbrushed it with craft acrylics, on the wood parts I used oils over a tan craft paint. sealed everything with liquitex flat varnish, also painted one of the little crew guys

hopefully i have enough tape left over there for my Victory kit

some initial weathering on the copper, used gun blue sprayed on with a mist sprayer, will add the green colors with oils at the end of the build.

I love copper tape.  It makes a sometimes difficult job much easier.  Again, nicely done.
