I reworked the LF aerials, isolators and made some turnbuckles. I started the turnbuckles by twisting wire strands around a pin. I looked for some brass tubing that would work for the body but couldn’t find anything small enough. Falling back on my electronics experience I decided to use 1mm OD heat shrink tube. This seems to have worked well. I then used these same wire strands to run through and twist the insulators.

Here is the result for the port stern aerial.

Now on to the remaining aerials. I also ordered the guns from Hanants along with a 1/72 U-boat crew. I don’t know if I will be using them on this build, but I would like to get a type VII at some point and maybe use them there.

The Weathering looks great. U-Boote Decks were always painted a Dark Colour but wear and tear really scufs them up. I think yu have nailed it. She is a hard working Boat.....Cheers Mark

I got all the aerials on and I'm pleased with them. Everything is completed including the new base, I'm just waiting for the new parts to arrive to attach them and I'll have completed pics.

I guess Revell isn't producing the type VII any longer. The only ones I can find are on eBay and Amazon for around $130. Didn’t want to spend that much. That would be hard to convince the wife that I need another U-boat for almost twice what I spent on this one. I guess the guys I'm getting will go on the type IX.

I think I saw the same one, with $39 shipping. Mark Twain, which I ordered the type IX from has one for around $95 with free shipping. I'll have to try to sell some stuff to get it.

I received the AA guns from Hanants today. They look very nice with brass barrels and PE. These should be fun.

I started the 20’s and the kit seems very nice. It’s going together very well.

Here are the completed 20’s. I would recommend this AM set as a replacement of the guns on the kit. All I need to complete is the painting and wait for the anchor to arrive from Revell, although they have not responded to my request yet.

Does anybody know, are those counterweights hanging off the front of the frame under the barrels?

The guns are done, and The U-boat is almost done. I just need to complete the flag and take some pics. I’m still waiting for the anchor from ROG but I’m starting to get impatient after a month so I’ll take some pics without it in a couple of days. Anyway, here are the MpM 20’s.

I’m done with the U-boat although I’m still waiting for the anchor from ROG. Don’t know if or when I’ll be getting a replacement for it.
Anyway, here it is.

That's really fine work.

So many details you've done well! Just to pick out one - the way you've created the drooping flag! It really looks good - as do many other details.
