Hello everyone,

Here is my first, and probably last, 1/700 ship. I used PE railings and a few other items, but its mostly out of the box. The rigging is minimal, as I was losing patience with the sprue breaking/debonding. It was alot more work than I was expecting, and not as enjoyable as I hoped! I have a new found respect for those that can make stunning models at this scale.

Thanks,

Rob

It looks nice in the pictures Rob Yes. Good on ya for giving itg a try. It's hard to make 1/700 not look like a toy and you pulled it off.

No one says you have to use sprue for the rigging.  I started out my ship modeling with wooden kits, so I guess I never had the "all materials used to build plastic kit must be plastic" syndrome.  I use various types of thread, even for small 1:700 ships. It is getting harder and harder to find fine thread these days with diminuation of sewing hobby, but there are still online sources for fine thread (thank god for internet).

Rob,

Don't let it be your last 1/700 kit.  You did this z30 proud.
