What I found was that I did not have a sufficient vocabulary of French profanity.

 

In that case when I finally start the Victory, my skills in that field should stand me well, since a former employer was a Navy man turned body and paint shop owner.  He added quite a bit to my English phrases

   I have quite a collection of links and photo's of Soleil Royal models. In reviewing my data I missed a really good one and neglected to include the link. It has some very high resolution pictures of a 1/77 scale wood model.  The Pics of rigging are great, you can count the threads.

Mark , if you look at either the very top or very bottom of the page , you will see it is only page 7 of a 25 page build .  He goes into great detail on how to make and fix the sails . I found it very informative

I'd be willing to help you help on this as I rigged mine under full sail. Actually I found the SR instructions quite easy and fairly acurate for the most part and used Andersons book for areas that were somewhat vague or completley wrong. I can post up an overall pic or send you one via email to see if what I have done is to your liking?.

Thanks Nino,I do have that book along with others. It's funny,these two instructions I have are so different in comparison. The Anderson book I guess tells you the right way to do it with this period of ship but it generalizes with options. I still would like to know where each lines goes according to the layout of THIS ship pertaining to belaying pins and tie offs specifically and it's unclear on pictures on line and in these instructions they give you. Lot of guessing. I wish the instructions were as good as The Revell Constitution. The most precise I've ever seen( I have this one waiting to be put together plus the Victory). The Victory instructions are not any better than the SR's.

The Heller Instructions for rigging are not very good.

     The wettringer-modellbauforum Web site link mentioned earlier is for the fantastic German modelship site with terrific pictures that include photo's of rigging. There are a lot of pages to go thru and it is in German so Google translate will be needed. Note that the Translation will be poor, the pictures tell the whole story.

Hi Steve, thanks for responding! Unless I'm looking at this link wrong that you sent,I can't find anything on here about rigging an SR with sails that have close up pictures. I'll keep searching.Too bad your pictures were trashed I would have loved to see them!
