Chinese PLAN Type 055 Large Destroyer (Cruiser) in 1/350 Scale, Dutch 3D Naval Miniatures, OOB Review and Build

   Well , I have to say , they are certainly attractive warships . The Chinese are building like there's no tomorrow . Are they still engendering plans for the South China Sea ? These certainly would make things difficult .

 Their technology , although probably stolen , certainly overshadows the Russians .

Yes, they are.  They are building these large DDGs, which are roughly equivalent to our Ticonderoga class, though a much newer design with better stealth characteristics at the rate of four at a time...approximately four every two years.

We still have not decided on a replacement for the Ticos, though I believe a suitably modified Zumwalt with the larger radars, with at least one rail gun (of the two 155mm guns and at least one Laser Weapon System), along with additional PVLS cells, could easily fill the bill.

We simply need to move forward and modernize.  We have the designs and the technology...but the last administration canceled and held up SO much...we need our new Administration to get past that and move forward with the Flight III Burkes, the new FFG(X), the LSD(X), the Tico replacement, etc. and build them in sufficient numbers.

The Virginia Class SSN, thank goodness is moving forward and getting the Flight V boats with the SSGN capability rolling off the works is important there too.

Once the ainging, detailing, photo etch, sensorss, any sratch builds, and decals were completed, it was time to show the vessel off:

And there you have it.  A 1/350 scale model of the Type 055 PLAN most capable surface vessel.  Which tyey are building very rapidly and which are extremely capable.

I am unaware of any other mdel f this vessel and would certainly buy and built a Trumpeter or other such model if it were to become availabl;e.
